Your thoughts about the new website.

Ok, well, i posted up a new poll, it\'s on the front page under the Main Menu. You must be logged in to view it. Post here you thoughts of the new board layout also. Also keep in mind that the old website is still up and running, it\'s just that the board is disabled.

I like the front page layout better than the older site. The old site seemed like there was a lot of stuff just thrown on there and it was cluttered. The forums on the newer site are okay, I guess. Still a lot that could be done, imo.

I am pissed this new site doesn\'t have a batman smiley.

Front page looks nice, and the graphics.

The forums are horrible, unless its just my monitor or profile setting.

The grey shading, makes it hard to read the forums. The front page isn\'t nearly as bad as the forums..

the spacing seems like it was squeezed into a small space on the site..

What resolution was this designed for? Maybe thats my issue I\'m at 1280 x 1024 res..

Well, i run on a similar resolution as you. Mine is 1280x800. The was originally designed for 800x600 and above. Anything above 1280x though, I\'m afraid the top banner isn\'t big enough. What I can probably do, is change the default color text on everything on the forum to look like the text in here, a shade of white rather than a shade of gray on a shade of gray like on the front of the forums.

The website- while not great for people on dialup, its still very clean and professional looking.

The areas of concern- which I think most people would agree with. The websites resolution needs to be increase to 1024 x 768. This will allow for a less cluttered look while still allowing people who may have smaller resolutions to see the entire website.

I know you have addressed that and are working on it =)

Now onto the forums, you are doing a great job adding features and squashing any bugs that have come up. Great work. Over the next few weeks we will all come to love this new site layout. Its just going to take a little bit of time to get everything running at full capacity.

As a side note- there should be a small section on the front page showing current posts, it doesn\'t have to scroll like previously. Something along the lines of how topmudsites does there. That would be very cool.

Also- the posts per page drastically needs increasing. I think I counted 6 per page.

When I edit an article I previously posted, If I did any special formatting by using say the space bar before a line, when I edit the article it removed the spacing before the lines. Can you dive into the code and stop it from removing whitespace before every newline?

Ok, it\'s been upped to 10 posts per page, instead of 6.
