I would have thought if you had a high enough impairment counter check(Agility vs Dexterity for Trip, not sure about Bash, Strength vs Strength?), you would be able to bypass it. Might not help as much vs a Barbarian or Valkyrie though(Savage Assault/Heroine's Charge being semi-random auto-attacks that produce Bash without the added bonuses). A bit funny that one, Valkyries' capstone ability being about the same mechanically as a level ~80 Barbarian's.
