Invasion Discussion

Alright, I'll start this off.
Invasion - When the Vl'lak Ogres decide to try and take over Ruushi. (Bad stuff happens when ogres try to take over ruushi =P )
The Vl'lakian Ogres are !first attack - which means they must aggro you. They have a special shield which makes them unattackble. The only Ogres that I have noticed are attackable are warlocks. Keep that in mind.

How to start:
Get a rune, talk to the Watch-Captain Christof.
There are two types, basic type, and enhanced type.
To find out your target for the invasion, go to Christof and type - answer target - figure out what your target is, and start from there.
Basic rune gives you what you can handle.
Enhanced broadens your aggro a bit more.
Along with an enhanced rune also comes the chance of getting swarmed with attackers, so prepare for a long battle. Lets say you were in a room with a lumberjack, he may attack you, and summon two mastiffs to hit you also. (this can lead to a very long battle).

For Vivec it is -
answer rune - target is butchers
answer enhance - wall-bashers / devourers

Your target is based on ???? (I'll fill this in later, when I have more understanding.)

Now, most important part that has yet to be undiscovered.
I've come up with a few decisions about the Vl'lakian warlocks;
1) Summons Slavers
2) Summons Taskmasters
3) Are only attackable mob (most have a special meaning behind it)

^ So whim, if you care to expand my thinking, please do so =]

Now for bosses:
When a boss mob spawns, there will be a reporting on shout, so stay tuned to that.
(Plus the 10-15 other members taking part in the invasion yelling and asking where the mob is).

Bosses -
Everyone should immediatly run to the boss as soon as it spawns.
Let others know where it is.
The longer the boss stays up, the more damage is caused to ruushi. (see damage)
When a boss is killed, the head will be given to someone who took part in killing the boss.
What they should then do is, during the invasion go to Krijjkr, he is above temple where you go to recieve your reward.

The command to prompt his responce is answer head
Follow the instructions,
Turn the head in,
And everyone recieves a higher reward.

Platnium bars or items are what have come out of the rewards so far, there might be more, who knows.

Now damage and rewards section.

Damage - Over the past couple of days, there have been many invasions.
With each successfull and unsuccessful defend, there are different titles given to the damage ammount instilled upon Ruushi.

Going from
Minimal to Servere to (Ruushi was just raped, please don't let this happen again)
Lol, when I get a list of damage titles, I'll edit this post.

But now on to rewards.
The way it's been is the more runes, more mobs, more kills you have, the higher your reward. Well, that comes with a price also. The more damage Ruushi takes, the lesser everyone's reward is. So with that being said, you may be the ultimate tank in the invasion, kill over 50 ogres, let's say you do work. But ruushi takes servere damage. You better be ready for that 5k-6k reward, when it could have been 12k to 16k.

So all in all, the less damage Ruushi takes, the better everyones reward is.
So on your downtime, help others kill their mobs.
Kill some warlocks.
Get some work done when you have weakened mind affect.

If I missed anything, I'm sorry. Kind of spanned this in a mattered of 20 minutes.
Any comments/questions are appreciated.

To add to what has been said above, it is possible to get the first hit on the ogres. You need to be spamming the "XXXX Ogre"(where XXXX is whatever skill you're planning to initiate combat with, like banded smiting, or especially Ishtl's Thrashing) within the 5 second period just before the Rune's quest affects drop. This has happened to me several times now. Not really good for Footpads or Ninjas who can't ambush(or don't have the %s to get the flanking bonus from shadow cast), but useful for those of you like Nojohrs, Paladins, Poliirs, Barbarians(especially if you're joining on a mob that's near 3/4 dead, thrashing can really rough it up and probably take a round off.), and Valkyries, who can get the first hit in.

OK something I noticed.

I figured to do an invasion where I went for all enhanced runes, I figured if there are more mobs to aggro me then the quicker I would lose affect and the faster I could help others. Now it is true to say that in the trial the damage result was [ mild] and we got a head. However my reward was far less than other times where I had gone for just runes and had to spend time hunting devourers, but with all the pluses in place would have thought to get more.

From what I've seen, yes.
Not as high as some of the numbers I've pulled out, but they get a good amount.

Serenity 06-03-2009 11:12 AM

I hope they do, it would be a huge boost to those who could not possibly hope to run that kind of plat even in a day, and so help to narrow the gap just a little in growth ability.

ah nod. just making sure they do. They really deserve it. Just watching out for the youngn's :P
